So we went to Pottery Barn on Saturday...I know what you're thinking...stay away from PB, haven't you learned your lesson. Guess not. We went to PB to order a dresser. What should have taken 20 minutes sucked up 5 1/2 hours of a Saturday. Let me explain.
See it all started with a 10% off coupon that expired Sunday. Ten percent. Are we desperate or what? The saleslady was inept, their computers were on the fritz, the credit card company (that out sources customer services to indentured servants in India...don't get me started!) was frustrating the situation, and the kids were hungry. We took a break from our attempt to buy one %#*&! dresser to eat lunch. Four lemonades later I had to potty, which left Murray alone with two kids tired of furniture shopping (can't imagine why.) Alexander went left, Christian went right...and fell off a bench landing on his elbow on concrete. The bruising and swelling were instant...crap here we go again. So we loaded up and headed to St. Luke's emergency room. Two hours and 4 X-rays later...he does not have a broken arm! Thank God, however I did rehearse my story for Child Protective Services just in case...it's only a matter of time. So the kind ER tech blows some bubbles for distraction, cleans Christian's scrape and applies a Superheroes bandaid. A $700 Superheroes bandaid. It is now almost 4pm. We've missed nap, but we are on a high after finding out Christian doesn't have his second broken bone in six months, and the coupon is expiring, so what do we do...head back to PB to finish the purchase. We finally say goodbye to all the PB employees (we've been there all day...we've all become friends by now) at 5:45. The kids are crossed eyed, we are pissed at Amex, and we still haven't finalized the dresser purchase.
Which explains why we stopped at the liquor store on our way home.
