So most of you now know that we are going to have a baby in the Fall. We found out the week before we went to Vienna and it took us a few weeks to absorb it. It was such an unexpected surprise that when I saw the positive EPT test I couldn't have been more shocked if it was Murray that was pregnant. Unfortunately, I'm one of those that have smell and food aversions, and a very sensitive stomach when I'm pregnant. Well, I have that when I'm not pregnant too, but it's heightened when the hormones kick in. That made Vienna a bit of challenge with it's foreign foods and all the smokers. Nothing like the sight of wurst to get your stomach rolling.
I had my first OB appointment the week after we got back, and all the blood tests came back fine. I requested a beta pregnancy test just to confirm it was a pregnancy and not plumbing issues. Definitely pregnant. A few weeks later Murray and I went back for our first ultrasound. First, we had her do a head count...only one. Huge "whew!" Can you imagine me with 2 sets of twins?! Straight from Labor and Delivery to the Psych ward. No joke. The baby measured exactly 9 weeks with a strong heart beat. My due date is Nov 5th, one week after my 40th birthday. Good thing 40 is just a number and I'm actually 35 on the inside ;) Doing the math that put conception in the second week in February, a month when Murray was traveling every week. It is beyond comprehension how we, with a less than 10% chance of natural conception, without even trying, in a month when Murray was hardly home (no we don't have a milkman, and the postman is a woman), managed to receive such a miracle. Oh I know...it was indeed a miracle.

SO exciting! I can't wait to find out what you are having? You are going to find out, right? I mean, I'm all for not finding out...obviously! But I know you, and you will find out. :) Did you get good sono pics?
