Murray was wrong...we had a prayer after all. About a week ago the "perfect preschool" called to say they have 2 spots for us! I was so happy I jumped up and down and shed a few happy tears. I ran around yesterday getting medical forms completed and copying shot records. The boys are officially enrolled. Bring on the snow!
Keeping the good news flowing...Alexander is almost potty trained. Thanks to peer pressure from a few potty savvy visitors, and one girlfriend he was determined to impress (thank you Carly), Alexander decided the time had come to switch from Pampers to Hanes. After a few extremely wet and messy days the light bulb went on and he's been dry and clean ever since. We've been rewarding him with a "celebration" which involves a piece of candy and applause and cheers from his supporters. Of course in true Alexander style he's already figured out how to work the system. He'll sit on the potty turning purple just to eek out a few drops in exchange for a Hershey Kiss and a few high fives. My clever boy. I'm hoping the novelty wears off before he gets hemorrhoids.
I am so proud of him, but like a true male with it comes the "potty humor" stage. His "deposits" have been compared to snails, baby balls, and announced as "bigger than ever!" My favorite is when he runs for the bathroom, stripping (because he can only go if he's completely naked...anyone care to explain that) yelling "I hear it coming Mommy!" Seems he has noisy pipes.
Christian has other things on his plate. He's leaving potty training for a later time while he works on more intellectual pursuits. He's almost mastered the alphabet (sight & sounds) with "B" Batman and "S" Superman & Spiderman as his favorites. He's also decided he loves church. This is huge, for those of you that know of our many failed attempts to leave them in the church nursery. He was so disappointed when it was time to leave last Sunday that he told us he was going to take the truck and drive back to church himself. He is going to love preschool.
Sadly, our run of visitors has come to an end. I know school is about to start, but I hope that doesn't permanently stop the Murphy Migration. There is always room at the Sanderford B&B.
