I cleaned the apartment today. Sanitizing both bathrooms, vacuuming, and wiping down the kitchen took me 35 mins. Another plus to such cozy accommodations.
This morning we went to toddler story time at the library. There were about 15 kids ages 18mos-3yrs. The librarian read a few picture books, told flannel board stories, did a few finger plays, and sang. It was a fun 30 minutes for the kids. Before we went in I gave them a strict behavior warning, and promised MM's after lunch. They were so well behaved I was so proud of them. Alexander sat on the colorful rug and watched the librarian attentively. Even when the other kids stood with her to perform "when you're happy and you know it...," Alexander sat in the middle of the group looking at her and watching the kids. I guess he took my "don't move, don't talk, be still and watch the lady" to heart. I'll have to amend my directions for next time. Christian, who has ants in his pants, sat on my lap or the floor around me or next to Alexander for a few minutes, but he was never disruptive...until the other librarian came into the room and sat behind us. She was a skin and bones, mean looking, uptight, surly woman, who had no business working with young kids. She was playing bad cop to the sweet librarian's good cop...eyeing all the kids and frowning at the busy bodies. Christian stared at her for a while and asked loud enough for others to hear..."why that man is mad?" My guess was she was hungry and needed some lovin'.
Speaking of skin and bones...America's Next Top Model starts tonight. It's the only Reality TV show I watch. I enjoy laughing at woman younger, taller, thinner, and prettier than me. Especially when I have PMS. Makes me feel almost as good as chocolate.
